Snowboard Apo Coincoin

Note: The actual colour of the board's base may be different than the one shown on the picture. Brands make them randomly.

The Gérome Mathieu pro-model was designed to fit his style. From the park to backcountry kickers, the Coincoin bridges the gap between freestyle and freeride with a single goal: to have fun whatever the ter- rain. Its nearly twintip shape, Beta woodcore and our XV carbon strips make this board perfect for modern freestylers.

"This board perfectly fits what I was looking for, it makes me confident." Gérome Mathieu

TECHNICAL INFO :

Shape

  • - Directional Twin

Structure - Construction

  • - Slanted Sidewalls :

The sidewalls are slanted, made of ABS and are silk-screen printed.

  • - Double Flex :

The core is slightly hollowed out between the feet, to enhance manoeuvrability while keeping all the energy into the board.

  • - 2D Fiberglass :

The 2D (0/90°) fibreglass weave has 80% of its weight in the axis of the board, and 20% perpendicularly. It gives the board good pop whilst keeping it manoeuvrable and softer in torsion (compared with 3D fibreglass) to make it more forgiving.

  • - Beta Core :

This core is made from two types of poplar. The denser parts (50% of the core) are placed around the inserts (for skis, under the foot) for added strength and resistance. This core is light and snappy to provide a dynamic ride and beefed up pop.

  • - XV Carbon :

X and V-shaped carbon strips placed on the tip and the tail of the board boost the board's pop. They increase its responsiveness for allies and at the end of turns.

Shape - Sidecuts

  • - Shape Freestyle :

90% Twin Tip: Tip and tail radiuses are nearly identical, the woodcore and inserts are centred, and the sidecut radius is much shorter, making these boards the perfect freestyle toy.

Rocker - Camber

  • - Classic Camber :

Snowboarding started with classic cambers. Cambered boards are designed to go anywhere, providing good control and dynamism with added precision and power.

Other

  • - Powders Inserts :

Ever had a freestyle board on a powder day and felt like you might be missing out on something? These days are over: to make it possible to set yourself back 2cm (on centred boards) on big powder days, we have added a line of inserts behind both bindings.

  • - Sintered 4000 Base :

The higher molecular density makes these bases the reference in terms of durability and gliding performance, especially on very cold snow. Be sure to wax your base often to get the most out of it.

  • - Stone Grind :

Stone ground bases glide much better on wet snow thanks to the structure which enables the water drops to escape quicker under the board.

Snowboard camber

Classic camber : The classic or traditional camber refers to how the board rises between the contact points in nose and tail when it sits flat on the ground. The middle part doesn't touch the ground. This gives the board specific skills: it's snappier, poppier and it grips better. However, it's more demanding and harder to manage.

Flat camber : Flat cambers are more forgiving than traditional cambers and more stable than reverse cambers. Completely flat between the bindings, flat cambers float better on powder without sacrificing hold on hard snow. An excellent compromise for those who aren't super confident yet, or those looking for versatility.

Reverse camber : When your board sits flat on the ground, both ends rise above the snow making the board look like a banana. That provides effortless floatation on powder and a catchfree ride on hard snow. Boards with reverse cambers have a bias towards freestyle, they're generally very playful and allow easy flat tricks and presses. However, they're not as stable and precise when it comes to ride on pistes.

W Rocker : Mixed camber, or medley camber, is a blend of different cambers into one board. Reverse between the feet, classic underneath and rockered through the nose and tail. The idea is to benefit from skills of traditional cambers (pop, edge hold, snap) with the ability of a reverse camber (forgiveness, playfulness, floatation). This type of camber is, according to us, the one that suits most riders.

Rocker Camber : The Rocker camber is a combination of a traditional camber between the feet with two rockers in the nose and tail. This way, you get serious edge grip and explosive pop without compromising floatation and playfulness.

Freeride : Traditional camber between bindings and huge rockered nose. With this set up, you get a powerful and grippy board, stable at high speeds with an outstanding floatability. Perfect for riding fall lines and gapping cliffs !
